Sense - Илья Задорнов

This model showes a girl with her loved one far away. She feels a sense of yearning and a faint connection to him. This feeling draws her closer to him, pulling her towards the hope of a reunion.

This is my first original origami design. I started from the idea of creating good looking hands. I tried many different designs, but they were either too complicated or didn’t result in clean folds. My goal was to keep the design simple, with minimal visible creases or flaps.

The solution I came up with wasn’t the most obvious one, but that’s because of the color change. Still, it allowed me to achieve simple hands while also creating the folds for the sleeves.

I started with a 28x28 grid, but due to the dress and the color change of hand and hair, the grid size increased to 48x48. I also wanted to add a bow on the waist without making it too complicated.

In the base form, it looks like a diamond, but with some effort, you can turn it into a beautiful bow with a heart. My goal was to keep the design simple yet functional.

Because of the twist in the hand, you will need thin paper; otherwise, the hand twist and shoulders would be too thick. I would recommend using paper larger than 50x50 cm.

Here is my crease pattern. Feel free to use it.

I’d like to thank @theplantpsychologist for his Origami Design Class playlist on YouTube. It was a great help to start learning designs. I also found Abrashi’s post on color changes using Hatsune Miku as an example incredibly useful.
